Meet Darren Wilson! He’s been a dedicated member of the Olds Healthcare Fundraising Committee since 2020. Darren and his wife, Mary, moved to Olds back in 2000 with their two little daughters. Like many young families, they found themselves visiting the Olds Hospital emergency room quite often. As their daughters grew and got more active in sports and recreational activities, those visits continued! Now that Darren is a bit older, he’s on the other side of things, needing urgent care at the Olds Hospital more frequently.
It’s no secret that our healthcare system is facing challenges, and our healthcare professionals truly are the unsung heroes in this situation. He gets to see firsthand how the committee’s fundraising efforts make a real difference by providing funds for medical equipment.
Darren's commitment to being part of OHFC allows him a chance to give back to the community and support the amazing frontline healthcare workers. This includes not just those in the hospital, but also individuals in elder care & continuing care, first responders, and mental health services. This support not only enhances the work environment but also improves healthcare delivery in our community, ensuring that other families can enjoy the same high standards of care that his family has experienced.
