Meet Darren Wilson! He has been a dedicated member of the Olds Healthcare Fundraising Committee since 2020. Darren and his wife, Mary, moved to Olds in 2000 with their two young daughters. Like many families, they frequently visited the Olds Hospital emergency room. As their daughters grew and became more active in sports and recreational activities, those visits continued. Darren's family has utilized the urgent care services at the Olds Hospital, and has witnessed the positive impact that an improved healthcare system and upgraded equipment can have on both staff and patients.
It’s no secret that our healthcare system is facing challenges, and our healthcare professionals truly are the unsung heroes in this situation. He gets to see firsthand how the committee’s fundraising efforts make a real difference by providing funds for medical equipment.
Darren's commitment to being part of OHFC allows him a chance to give back to the community and support the amazing frontline healthcare workers. This includes not just those in the hospital, but also individuals in elder care & continuing care, first responders, and mental health services.
This support not only enhances the work environment but also improves healthcare delivery in our community, ensuring that other families can enjoy the same high standards of care that his family has experienced.
Darren's commitment to improving the community goes beyond his involvement with the OHFC; it also encompasses his role as a member of the Town of Olds Council. As an advocate for community support and enhancement, he takes a holistic approach to improvement, considering everything from healthcare to community-focused initiatives.
